Overview
Shekvetili is a small, pine-backed beach resort on Georgia's Black Sea coast, 45 km north of Batumi — quieter than Kobuleti and Batumi, but home to an outsized cluster of modern attractions built over the past decade that punch well above the size of the village itself.
Chief among them is the 60-hectare Shekvetili Dendrological Park, opened in 2020 with hundreds of giant transplanted trees, exotic birds, and pink flamingos — alongside the Black Sea Arena, the largest concert venue in the South Caucasus, which has hosted international acts including the Scorpions and Christina Aguilera.
The result is an unusual mix for a village this size: a genuine beach holiday, a world-class botanical park, a major concert hall, and family attractions like an amusement park and a miniature-monuments park, all within walking distance of a 5 km pine-lined shoreline.
